During the night, the aromas diffuse into the dough … therefore, after cooking, leave it to cool, then wrap it in a cling film. Just before serving, take off the film and reheat it in the oven to exalt the flavour !


This is what you need to make the Savoury Cake with Mustard for 6 to 8 people

  • 1 1/4 cup (250g) flour
  • 1 Tbsp (15 g) dry yeast
  • 4 free range eggs
  • 1/2 cup (100 ml) olive oil
  •  2/3 cup (150 ml) dry white wine
  • 5 Tbsp (80 g) mustard
  • 1 handful fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup (60 g) dried tomatoes
  • 2/3 cup (150 g) grated Gruyère cheese

Now here is the way to succeed to make the Savoury Cake with Mustard

Preheat the oven to 350°F (180 °C). In a big bowl, beat the eggs with the olive oil and white wine. Incorporate the flour mixed with the yeast gradually. Add the mustard, the chopped parsley and the grated Gruyere cheese. Pepper and mix well.

Pour the mixture into a buttered and floured cake pan and bake for 30 minutes at 350°F (180 °C) then finish cooking at 300°F (150 °C) for 15 minutes. The cake must be nicely golden brown. Let cool before unmolding.
