Nothing is better than making these Mozzarella and Pepper Sarnie when a hot day comes and hits your door… They are done in no time and are enjoyed also because so easy to make. Prepare everything you can the day before ! So spend more time with your friends and at Laclassedecuisine.com !
First, Here is the list of the different ingredients you will need to make the Mozzarella and Pepper Sarnie that serves 6
- 3 red peppers
- 2 big mozzarella balls
- 12 slices of bread
- 1 bunch of basil
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 fresh onion
- 1/2 lemon
- 3 Tbsp olive oil
- fresh Pepper
- One or two small cans of sardines, optional.
Now, Here are the few steps you will need to follow to make the Mozzarella and Pepper Sarnie with a 15 minutes preparation time
First, turn the oven to grill and roast the peppers on all sides for about 30 minutes. Put them in a sealed plastic bag a few moments, then remove the bag and remove the skin and seeds of the three peppers. This is the easiest way to peel your peppers… Cut them in stripes.
Mix half of the basil leaves (washed and dried), garlic and onion peeled, salt, pepper and add olive oil until you have a thin consistency.
Toast the bread or roast on your plancha or BBQ grill and spread them with basil oil. Spread pepper strips above, add the mozzarella you have drained and sliced.
Finally add the whole basil leaves and drizzle with basil oil and drops of lemon juice. Alternatively you can also, like I did, put small sardines on top for some fans…
Serve immediately and enjoy 🙂
