Macaroni & Cheese

This is a hugely comforting dish that everybody loves, with its mature orange and yellow cheddars that gives this great warming colour. Thanks to these lovely and meltingly unctuous cheeses that make this old favourite dish, a must at this time of the year !

Here is the list of the different ingredients you will need to make the Macaronis & Cheese and that serves 4 to 6

  • 2 Cups Macaroni
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 2 Tbsp flour
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 cup shredded orange cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/2 cup shredded yellow cheddar cheese

Now, here are the few steps you will need to follow to make the Macaroni & Cheese

 

Cook the macaroni according to package directions, drain and set aside.

Meanwhile for the cheese sauce, heat the butter in a medium saucepan and when completely melted stir in flour and pepper. Add milk all at once. Cook and stir over medium heat until slightly thickened and bubbly. Add 1 cup orange cheddar and 1 cup yellow cheddar, stirring until melted.

Mac & Cheese

Stir in cooked macaroni. Transfer mixture to a buttered oven proof casserole. Add the rest of the shredded cheddar on top and bake in a 350°F ( 180°C°) oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown.

Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
