Turmeric Chicken

Lots of flavours make up this warming sauce. The chicken adds plenty of protein, making it a substantial dish. This wonderfully simple-to-make Turmeric Chicken is a useful speedy standby to have ready at hand for a lunch or dinner. 


Serves 4                              Preparation and Cooking time 30 minutes

  • 2 1/3 cup (600 g) chicken breast
  • 2  Tbsp sunflower oil
  • 1 onion, peeled and minced
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 2 Tbsp (30 g)  fresh ginger, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp ground turmeric
  • 1 cup (250ml) whipping cream
  • 2 Tbsp fresh coriander
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice

Cut the chicken breasts into cubes and fry in a pan for 10 minutes in hot sunflower oil. Set aside.

In the same skillet, fry the chopped onion, the garlic and ginger until golden. Add the turmeric, mix well and finally, incorporate the whipping cream. Add the chicken cubes and simmer for 5 minutes. Finally add the lemon juice.

Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve with rice.
