Lorraine Quiche is one of the great classics of French provincial cuisine. Its origins date back to the 16th century. So I'm giving you here the recipe I received from my Lorraine family because there are many Lorraine quiche recipes. With bacon, with strips of ham, with or without grated gruyere. So it's up to you to choose.
First, here is the list of the different ingredients you will need to prepare this Quiche Lorraine for 4 to 6 people, depending on your appetite!
- 200 g shortcrust pastry (see Tips/ Astuces)
- 150 g of smoked bacon or strips of white ham
- 300 ml fresh cream
- 4 big free range eggs
- Salt and pepper from the mill
- 1 pinch of nutmeg
