Stuffed Cabbage Casserole

First, here is the list of the different Ingredients you will need to make the Stuffed Cabbage Casserole that serves 4 to 6 

  • 1 large green cabbage
  • 400 g (2 cups) boned pork shoulder
  • 400 g (2 cups) sausage meat or chicken breast
  • 2 carrots
  • 3 onions
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 bottle white wine
  • 1 bunch parsley, chopped .
  • 50 g (3 Tbsp) butter
  • Salt and pepper

Now, here are the different steps you will need to follow to make the Stuffed Cabbage Casserole

Remove the first large cabbage leaves and cut each leave at the base. Blanch in boiling salted water for 5 minutes after the start of boiling .

Peel, slice and melt 2 onions in 20 g butter. Add salt and pepper and set aside.

Mix the stuffing ingredients. Start with minced meat and onions, chopped parsley, 1 clove crushed garlic and finally, add the 2 egg yolks to bind the stuffing.

In a baking dish, melt 30 g butter with the last remaining onion, peeled and diced carrots, cloves of garlic, then deglaze the pan with white wine.

Prepare a kitchen towel and place on it 2 large cabbage leaves put flat. Crouch stuffing leaving about 3 cm edge to facilitate the shaping of your cabbage. Repeat until all cabbage leaves and filling are done.

Reshape the cabbage leaves by folding them to give a rounded shape and lock it tightly in your kitchen cloth.

bake and cook at 150 ° C ( 250°F) 1 1/2 hours basting regularly with her juices. Serve this dish hot, In its dish but make sure to take away the kitchen towel before serving and enjoy.
