Artichokes are a superfood in every sense of the word. A serving of artichokes provides greater antioxidant benefits than many other foods traditionally considered to be antioxidant-rich, such as dark chocolate, blueberries and red wine.

Serves 4 Preparation 10 minutes
- 7 oz (200 g) artichoke hearts canned or frozen
- 3 oz (75 g) fresh cheese like “Carré Frais”
- 3 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 2 Tbsp fresh basil, chopped
- Salt and pepper
Place the artichoke hearts (thawed) and cream cheese in the bowl of a mixer. Add olive oil and lemon juice. Add salt and pepper and mix until a little grainy paste.
Add the chopped basil and mix until the mixture is creamy.
Serve on fresh or grilled bread or small toast and enjoy.
